This seminar will discuss the recent changes to Wisconsin Admin Code Chapter DCF 150, that went into effect July 1, 2018. Specifically, it will explain the changes to the formula for determining variable child support costs for shared placement between parents, the change to the definition of "equivalent care" and the implications for practitioners.

Practitioners will gain an understanding of:

  • Wisconsin's Child Support Guidelines
  • the recent changes to Wisconsin Admin. Code Chapter DCF 150
  • the new formula for determining variable child support costs for shared placement cases, the amended definition of "equivalent care", changes to the low-income and serial-family formula, and more. 

Connie M. Chesnik received both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has served as legal counsel for the state child support and W-2 programs since 1985. Connie has lectured frequently on child support related issues including the Wisconsin Percentage of Income Standard and the federal Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act and has authored numerous articles. Connie also has extensive experience working with Wisconsin tribes in the development of IV-D programs and the discretionary transfer of cases from state to tribal court under Wis. Stat. §801.54. She is a member of the National Child Support Enforcement Association.
